When learning important information, I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say, “Could you be a little more vague about this?” In an effort to give Lessonly learners more helpful information about their training, we’ve added lesson descriptions.
Changes for today
As an admin, manager, or creator, you can now add lesson descriptions from any lesson’s overview page. Do so by clicking the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner of the description box. These short descriptions will go a long way in helping explain the content within a lesson further than the title can do on its own.
On the learner side of things, lesson descriptions are now featured in assignment emails if a description exists. Instead of learners opening an email and only seeing they’ve been assigned a lesson called “Your First Day on the Job,” lesson creators can now add a more detailed description like, “Excited to have you! Here are a few things you need to know for your first day (like where to park and what the building code is!)”
These small bites of information are going to play a big part in the Learning Library as we begin rolling that out to more customers. Each lesson will have its description displayed within its respective lesson card. This will help learners will better understand what they’ve been assigned before clicking on a lesson or course.
Assignment Dashboard Redesign
We also have a redesign to the “my assignment” page coming soon that will affect much more than lesson descriptions, but they will be a significant part. In the same way as the Learning Library, lesson descriptions will be displayed inside of lesson cards.
We recommend getting a head start on lesson descriptions both for today’s benefits as well as the updates to come. If you have any questions or difficulty, feel free to drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to help!
